In today’s world, society often generalizes the church with images of hate and hurt. The public condemns the church for the hurt and pain caused to many by members of the Church.

Là một người công giáo, trong chúng ta, không ai là không được nghe nhắc nhở luôn về từ ngữ Hiệp Thông. Nhưng đón nhận và thấu hiểu từ ngữ đó như thế nào tuỳ theo từng trình độ.

Pope St. Paul VI once wrote, “Modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if he does listen to teachers, it is because they are witnesses'' (Evangelii Nuntiandi, n. 41). He wrote this statement in 1975, and it continues to ring true today.

“Tuổi trẻ Việt Nam đem Chúa cho giới trẻ mọi nơi.” As members of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement, we are so blessed with numerous opportunities to serve the children of our church communities. From teaching the weekly Gospel, organizing community service projects throughout the year, and hosting spiritual retreats to help bring các em closer to God, the work we do bears fruit that we may never get to see. How often do we take a beat and think to pray for or serve ourselves?

“For the children.” That is often the response of anyone who serves in Thieu Nhi. Many of us have dedicated countless years, possibly even a majority of our lives in service to children. I have always been moved by not only the spirit but the truth that lies in childhood.

After reading the Pope’s intentions for this month, and really looking deep into his words, I am moved by the simple yet necessary implications that I was able to interpret. Especially in today’s world, it is important to be the people that God wanted us to be. The Pope is praying for the Church to continue to be faithful in spreading the Gospel while continuing to uphold our core values of being together and welcoming.

“Phần tôi, tôi đến để cho chiên được sống và sống
dồi dào.” (John 10:10)
Từ ngàn xưa Thiên Chúa tạo dựng chúng ta để được cùng chia sẻ sức sống của Ngài, để chúng ta được sống và sống dồi dào. Thế nhưng án tử hình, một hình thức kết thúc sự sống của một con người một cách không theo tự nhiên, vẫn đang được áp dụng tại một số quốc gia.

This month Pope Francis prays especially for the success of small and medium-sized businesses all around the world. A good and honest day's work is essential to who we are as human beings. Good and honest work provides us with meaning and fulfillment and helps us to contribute to the building up of a better world. This mission that has been entrusted to us goes all the way back to the moment of our creation;

Bố says that when I work with Thiếu Nhi, if I ever need to turn to a group of adults to work with, I should turn to "mấy bà cụ Hội Lê-Giô."
They're "more like us," he says. Many of them are no longer tied to the 9-5 grind like so many adults in our community. They no longer work and think like office workers - they're old!

Spring has sprung!
As we leave behind a solemn Lent season, a lingering pandemic anxiety, and a frigid winter cold — we welcome in the tumbling rain which gives us the warm breeze that carries the songs of chirping birds admiring the vibrant colors and fragrant flowers.
Mana 145 | Apr 2022
This spring marks a new beginning for many of us. It may be the first spring we have been back to sinh hoạt since the start of the pandemic. It may be the first spring where trips and vacations can finally be planned. It may be the first spring in which things have started to feel “normal” once again. This month the Pope calls us to guide our prayers to healthcare workers both here and abroad. It is largely thanks to our brothers and sisters in healthcare that we are able to come together this spring.
